After the “original” BlackBerrys (pre-Android), which I greatly miss for their physical keyboards and battery life, I’ve been searching for a device that’s ideal for using a terminal on the go. I’m intrigued by foldable phones but fear they might disappoint (besides being extremely expensive and often having questionable cameras).
Does anyone have experience with them and know if it’s feasible to use a terminal app (like Termux) comfortably on these devices?

@stefano@bsd.cafe I pretty much gave up … yes, I remember how nice my old #Nokia #E71 (a loooong time ago) worked as a terminal.
Nowadays I just have #ConnectBot and #HackersKeyboard installed, it’s “okayish” for occassional use, I did fix a few issues ad-hoc on the road, but really only for “emergency”…
@stefano@bsd.cafe A MacBook Air would be a fantastic choice for the same or less money.
@ronin3510@infosec.exchange I already have an iPad Pro 11" with the keyboard and it’s ok, but I’m not always able to keep it with me. A foldable could be always in my pocket
@stefano@bsd.cafe GPD do devices in the UMPC category which might fit that use case well (the pocket). Newest model for about £500 or an older one used for half that. Or Mr Mobile released a BlackBerry inspired case with physical keys for iPhone.
@stefano@bsd.cafe I don’t think there is anything like that these days (regrettably). I used to have a #Psion 5 that was good for terminal work. In fact I think I’ve still got it somewhere, might dig it out to see if it still works …
@stefano@bsd.cafe I just wanted to say how much I miss BlackBerry’s keyboard, even on a phone. I have my own views, and I’d rather prefer a mini-PC than a phone. But that’s not what you asked. Even if it’s not my cup of tea, I’d suggest a foldable Bluetooth keyboard as a companion to an android [tablet|phone].
