Launch statistics
☑️ 5th Atlas V mission of 2025, 106th overall
☑️ 6th ULA mission of 2025, 169th overall
Mission Details 🚀
Amazon Leo, formerly known as Project Kuiper, is a mega constellation of satellites in Low Earth Orbit that will offer broadband internet access managed by Kuiper Systems LLC, a subsidiary of Amazon. This constellation is planned to be composed of 3,236 satellites. The satellites are projected to be placed in 98 orbital planes in three orbital layers, one at 590 km, 610 km, and 630 km altitude.
Previous ULA launch: ViaSat-3 F2
Next ULA launch: TBD
I didn’t think Amazon would get another batch up this year. Good on them. They must have been ready before the DOD missions and jumped up in line.
Mission success
Down to 10x Atlas V launches left. 6x Starliner and 4x Amazon.
6x Starliner
Will there even be 6 more Starliner flights before ISS retirement?
Maybe 4: 1 cargo, 3 crew?
The other 2 Atlases don’t have fairings. And they have 2-engine Centaurs. I have no idea if Boeing will try to re-sell those to recoup some losses, or if that’s even possible if they can’t get fairings.
