    Best matchday Spain has had in a while, almost perfect. Sevilla wins and it’s 7/7 wins (and they were very unlucky).

    Performance-wise, pretty much only Madrid and La Real were better than their opponents. Maybe Betis too. In particular Villarreal, Barcelona, and Atletico were lucky to win this week.

      To be fair though, Real Sociedad were way better than Inter in the first round and deserved to win that, Atleti outplayed Lazio too for 60 minutes and were insanely unlucky with that last second Provedel goal. Atleti really deserved some luck after that

      And yeah Sevilla were robbed

        Think Atletico and Barca were easily worse than their opponents. Villarreal and Betis pretty lucky too. Sevilla were just about as good as PSV, if only a bit worse. They should have won nonetheless.

        La Real and Madrid were both good

          La Real is definitely the biggest exclamation mark so far, their intensity and passing has impressed me a lot

          Let’s hope they can take at least 4 points from the double header with Benfica

      All we need is for Feyenoor, PSV to go to the UEFA league and for ajax to go to the conference league

      I think all of those are doable. Then we have some Juggernauts in leagues that are our level.

    Well, there isn’t a lot to talk about Poland performance this week. 2 matches, 2 loses.

    Legia stopped playing happy football in defence, which is good, but I guess the price for it was the “ratio change” and now they lost more goals than “scored” (in quotation marks, as they didn’t score anything). At least losing to AZ away isn’t that bad (I mean, as they need to be placed in top 2 of the group to continue playing in Europe, losing is bad, but I think most people expect good performance in home match, while a priori away match was in “anything can happen” category).

    What IS bad is Raków losing to Sturm at “home” (as they play their matches in Sosnowiec instead), as that team was the one they were expected to fight against for 3^rd place in group, especially that it was the same story that happens in last few European matches - they defend all the time, so the opponent can finally find a way to score a goal against their good but not miracle-capable defence, meanwhile their offence is dead. At least this time they had some situations that weren’t cross-and-inshallah, but that is only positive that could be said about them.

    Greece already has its 2nd best performance of the last 5 years and it’s MD2. Says it all about how terrible some of the last seasons were.

    We would be even better if Olympiacos hadn’t reverted back to the early 00s, having a top-heavy team with all the quality concentrated in the attack while at the back doing blunder after blunder thus failing to consistently bring results in Europe. Today’s draw was inexcusable in every sense.

    PAOK though more than made up for it (regarding the Country Ranking) because not only they got the win against the “big” team but they are hoping for 1st place now, which gives a lot of bonus points.

    AEK and Panathinaikos could have either won or lost, so 2 draws is a good overall result, and keep both of them 1st for now in the Group.

    I think it’s a matter of time to catch 2 of Norway, Israel and Ukraine, and the question is if our clubs will get enough wins to catch Serbia for 15th.

    Czechia looks set for 12th and Denmark for 13th.

    Look out for Belgium in the battle for the top 2 coeffcients of the season - all 3 of their ECL clubs can win their Groups, I think they will overtake Turkey at some point (after Besiktas’ fiasco today).

    Cyprus with the huge Aris win today can feel confident for 22nd, Hacken looks out of their depth in the EL.

    And in the bottom part, the Faroe keep collecting!

      We were 3.5 points away from the 15th place before the group stage, and 2 MD in we are 2. PAO can realistically bring at least 1 more win and 1 more draw, same for AEK, PAOK can probably get 3 more wins. IDK wtf you guys are cooking. But tbf, if all 4 of us go to the playoff round or straight to 16, we will be 15th by the end of the season unless CZ pulls a miracle, since their teams have already played the easiest part of their program, but i think 2 of them will progress.

      Belgium is already over Turkey, Turkey’s rivals are Scotland, Austria, and Switzerland , as long as stay at top 10, there is a guarantee spot for CL, and Turkey is already 9th

      Whoever earns more points this year between Italy and Spain will be 2nd. Italy has the advantage over the next 3 years because the cutoff will mean earning +4, +3, and +3 against Spain

        Being the 2nd country in the UEFA coefficient would be great and would help Serie A to not be perceived as a farmer league from english people.

        2nd is always better than 3rd. I mean they fecked my brain last season about how important how fantastic how great was 2nd place in Premier League for ARSENAL and you tell me 2nd or 3rd is the same? Well yeah, you don’t get more benefits but I’ve the feeling ARSENAL are the closest to stop Manchester City reign.

            It is tho. Not in the sense that it isn’t competitive but in the sense our best players go away… Tonali, Vicario and Udogie to the PL. SMS and Brozovic to Saudi Arabia, Skriniar to PSG and also less known players but that were crucial for their teams like Rodrigo Becao go.

            And what we get? Thuram on a free, Rejinders to Milan, Retegui to Genoa? That’s the best signigs in Serie A from outside this summer I fear
