I’ve been a Misfits (Danzig is the only Misfits singer I’ll recognize, everything else is revisionist horseshit) fan since the mid 90s when my neighbor high-speed dubbed a tape copy of Static Age.

My folks did not like me listening to Misfits. My mom thought Misfits were devil worshippers because of their look, and songs like Halloween/Halloween II. Trying to get anyone to actually listen to the lyrics was wasting my breath.

Misfits lyrics are some of the most terrible written crap ever. Exhibit A - The first line of this song ‘Return of the fly, with Vincent Price.’. I say this as someone who has been listening to them for something like 30 years. I love them but JFC their lyrics suck.

They run the gamut of camp horror, to misogynistic violence against women, to just plain nonsense. They’re not really songs you can play for anyone else except other Misfits fans who understand exactly how terrible and camp the lyrics are. Anyway here’s Wonderwall.
