While I understand the potential value of that, it is worth also acknowledging that ai will never understand the human, social, contextual meaning of things its providing alt text for, and theres a fair argument to be made that folks with disabilities deserve those things

Id welcome perspectives from folks with relevant disabilities who use or depend on alt text :)

Nah, I love this kind of solution that instead of ordaining solutions and implementing them top down, supports communities ability to tend to their needs are relies on small local communities local efforts cumulatively address the problem.

Its not really satire if its almost exactly what he said but slightly worse, theres not really a joke or commentary and it does succeed at being misleading, I feel like its fair to describe it as misinformation. Its just an exaggeration of how bad what he said is.

There are people in this tread litterally claiming its true because there are sources that substantiate him saying something very similar.
