A small demonstration of Xpra, an optimized remote desktop/window transfer protocol. On this video, the remote host is connected via ssh to open a xfce4-terminal window, which is seamlessly integrated into the local window manager. You can then open other windows or just use the shell's built-in multitasking feature. The programs xeyes and glxgears are used to show how it works. Xpra is even able to automatically re-establish the session after the connection goes down and up again, unlike a simple SSH session with X redirection. The remote host is an almost brand new server running Debian "bookworm", and the local machine is Debian "sid" running Xfce.
