The NBCUniversal streaming service ended the year with 31 million subscribers.
I’d like to see a breakdown of the subs, I imagine many of them are on promotions like the Black Friday $29 a year deal. Let’s say it’s just 10mm of them, that leaves 21 million others, not knowing if they are paying the ad-supported price or the higher price, I’ll just use them as a whole, it works out to everybody needing to pay an extra $40 over the quarter. Streaming just costs too much for everybody to have a service and by the time companies realize it and try to go back to licensing everything to Netflix it will be cable-like pricing which will push more piracy or continue the push of young people turning to only YouTube or TikTok entertainment.
31 million is a shocking number of subscribers.
Pretty sure I’m a member due to some temp/free 6 month offer, not that I’ll ever pay for that service though…
