Setting up a VPN on your Apple TV 4K allows you to avoid geographic region restrictions and access services not normally available to you. With tvOS 17, VPN apps can now be installed on the Apple TV directly.

When choosing a VPN, always read the privacy policy.

If the policy mentions anything that can be interpreted as sharing with advertisers/partners then keep searching.

They will never be upfront about mishandling your data on their website, and will try to obfuscate it in the privacy policy.

Mullvad. No other companies come close.

If it doesn’t work for Apple TV because of their weird ass walled garden bullshit, run it router-wide 👍🏻

Mullvad is available on iOS, so it’s up to them to update their app to support AppleTV

What about PrivateInternetAccess? The thing about the AppleTV is I kind of assume its not super private, my concern lies more in streaming services having my exact unfiltered IP address and trying to correlate it with any potential leaks from other devices or IOT devices.

Can someone just break down and make it simple and clear how to mitigate the worst of AppleTV deficiencies and mitigations? I’m so tired…
