Just give him a chance in preseason and if he isn’t ready sell him with a nice buy back clause
I still believe in him
Anyone that knows ball believes in him.
We have 3 30yo CMs on our roster. He’ll get his chance next season.
Not so sure about that, I think he’ll be off in the summer. Either on a free transfer or he’ll extend again and go on another loan but he won’t play for us next season.
Haha Charlie patino, one of my flatmates used to play futsal with him in watford
I doubt that the once £10,000 eleven year old that consistently playing above his level and has since 15 played at one of the top three levels at Arsenal had much time nor freedom to go for futsal sessions with his acquaintances.
I used to play div 2 futsal in Melbourne. and ex Aussie players would sometimes have current Aussie/a league players filling for them up in div 1 (out of season). I have also been at fairly high level cricket games with professional AFL/soccer/basketballers playing. I even played cricket against Jamie Elliot (afl grand final winner) two weeks after his draft selection.
Can we stop trying to wish this guy into the first team for next season, please? It simply won’t happen. The gulf in quality between playing in the Championship for Swansea and playing for one of the world’s best teams is immense.
You’ll never know. Players breakout from lower leagues. Martinelli came from Brazilian series B. Coquelin was playing for Charlton in the Championship before recalled.
Our standards are higher now, but sometimes you just never know with players. Sometimes things just click. It’s not an insane proposition to keep him around the first team as a backup or rotational option to acclimate him into the team and assess how he does.
How about Brazillian 4th Division and Arsenal? 😀
I don’t know; he might be better than havertz in his current role
We could sure use a PL caliber CM that costs us nothing but I’m pessimistic on it being Patino. Would love to be proven wrong.
It is normal for a midfielder to become “mature” after their mid 20. All he needs now is playing time and learns how to play as a playmaker. It could be a long term project, or he might leave for somewhere with better opportunities
Let’s hope so, that would be very good news
A midfield role in this Arsenal side is easily the hardest to adapt to. When we were fighting for top 4 (honestly top 8) there was lots of room for youth players to make their mark. Not so much anymore.
Yeah thats the good thing of being shit and the bad thing of being good
Still slow roasting
He is in a tough spot, he is a playmaker like Odegaard and so he will likely replace him in cup matches or in case of injury in competition with Veira. He could play as no 8 but I think Arteta prefers a more physical and defensively capable player there.
I thought we sold him for $5m in summer. I must have been fantasizing again.
Too slow and weak Anyone who wanna tackle this, I guarantee that you never watched his game.
most likely not going to be him. seems like he’s been quite slow to develop considering the amount of loans he’s been on since last year, and that he’s still not played a single EPL minute.
