Sure, it could also increase the risk of Apple losing some of their monopoly.

If we lose the only meaningful non-Chromium web browser user base it’s a bad time for the open web.

WebKit (Safari) on iOS is the only reason Google can’t completely dictate web standards. If a significant margin of iOS users install a Chromium based Chrome ad we’re back into the “This page works best in IE” days. Except it’ll be way worse.

Oh no poor Apple users, faced with a very strange thing called CHOICE

The “choice” platform has already been in existence just as long as the iPhone…yet for some reason a small yet incredibly vocal group of people has decided that if iOS and Android don’t work exactly the same then Apple must be doing something wrong

Cool. I can’t wait to get stuck in the mile long queue at my local Apple Store behind a hundred dipshits who side loaded some crap on their phone which has bricked it. Most of whom will be insisting it’s all Apple’s fault too and demanding a new phone.

Because in this hypothetical situation I have some hypothetical business with the Apple store and waiting for one’s turn behind those who previously arrived is how civilised countries handle this situation.

I guess it’s not completely in your control, but just be careful what you install.

Why do we treat phones as such precious things but computers are fair game? Just have it as an opt-in feature.

I know I’m safer at home than going outside but I want to go in an adventure.
