Not the most sought-after model but five of them nonetheless.
Newbury Park?
At least it’s a safe neighborhood lol, crazy that being left out in street parking for 10 years hasn’t caused them to be vandalized or broken into
These clearly have not been abandoned for over a decade.
Looks like the driver door is open on the back one too.
Maybe not completely abandoned, but they do not move. Never have. They have been there since I was in elementary school. I’m now 30, and they’re still there. Still unmoved.
They’re not there anymore. You can move the street view away from the house for an October 2023 update to see that they’re gone.
I live in the area and realize I hadn’t seen these cars in a while. They’re definitely gone.
You could used four of those for parts cars and the fifth still wouldn’t run right
This is the correct 928 math.
My dad just threw a 9C1 Caprice LT1 in the one he restored and called it a day.
So, the 928 was the first Porsche I ever saw (thank you Risky Business) and was my dream car. Kinda glad now that dream never came true. I am now the happy owner of a 2017 Porsche Cayenne Platinum , and love it. Runs like a dream
Porsche, there is no substitute
As a 928 owner I can confirm that they all have (at least) one of the following issues:
Broken odometer
Oil Leak
Electrical short
Non working pop up headlights
Cracked dash
Misfire
Doesn’t start
Mine has 3 😁
No stripped synchros? Nice find!
Non working pop up headlights
Or one of them. Giving it this weird wink.
thats not a thing on the 928. There is a bar that connects the headlights and that bar is rotated my motor. You get both or none.
I assume 928 reliability was not as good as the 911 of that time?
Dayum you guys are lucky; the neighbors called the county on us and we forced to donate my NA Miata with 80K miles that was parked in our driveway.
Montgomery County Maryland. Illegal to have an unregistered car in your private driveway of a single family residence. Illegal to park a boat in your driveway. Illegal to sell Christmas trees before December 2nd. Literally worse than California.
Sadly, these are all gone now. The elderly gentleman who owned them was a real sweet guy and pleasant conversationalist, from the brief chat I had with him a couple years back. “I just love these cars, its as simple as that. I’m so lucky my wife puts up with my obsession.” was his entire spiel on the 928s. And since the 928s all disappeared one by one over the last year or so, I sadly wonder if he has also left this world.
Dude, I live a few blocks away from this guy in NP too. For the past year or so, I haven’t seen these cars out front. Think the guy either moved or passed away ☹️
What’s with so many of you guys being from this area? You’re like the fifth person to say something. It’s absolutely insane to me that I could post a picture of my old hometown, and so many of you guys recognize it.
Someone else also said they are no longer there. But they actually had a conversation with him. Apparently, he just liked the 928s. It wouldn’t surprise me if he passed, honestly. They were there for what seemed like forever.
NP? Where?
Edit: oh Newberry Park. I could tell it was Calif. Since I’m from Los Angeles but not NP. Now I know and if you find the owner, I’d like a white one… ❤️
I’m so glad that other people know of this! It’s lived in my mind for years
I lived in NP 20 years ago and he was collecting those back then! Glad to see he’s still in the run !
Didn’t they only make like 60k of these 928’s? So by my calculations, this guy owns half.
The second I saw this picture I IMMEDIATELY knew where this was.
Dudes a legend in NP.
Those cars have been there since the dawn of man.
This man is living my dream… after a C4 Vette later next year the next car on the list is a 928. Late 80s to mid 90s cars are my bread and butter.
Beautiful 928s …
Greetings from TO, I used to know this family in the 80’s when they had a half pipe in the backyard. I went to grade school with the 3 kids.
The owner is a nice guy and drove his vw bug for decades. For the longest time, he used to park his cars in the adjacent parking lot.
