Maybe according to some corrupted old ass judge who thinks there are still actual people connecting your phone calls yes. I’m pretty sure the EU will block the shit out of this privacy nightmare.
Judge should have all his/her messages intercpted until they rule its invasive to their privacy.
Let’s just post their address and see how they feel about privacy then. Idiots.
At this point, they are about to go fish in our browser history to see if we watch p0rn. 💀
This is going to be used to make bank with insurance companies, for sure. Not to mention the obvious surveillance aspect everyone already mentioned. On top of it, they’ll push it as an measure against texting and driving.
So I’m zero percent surprised this happened too.
Your text messages via Bluetooth have nothing to do with insurance.
They already have access to your phone records and logs via the networks, and the car black boxes which tracks every single input, speed and movements you are doing.
You sensing a Siri text about stopping to get milk doesn’t do anything for insurance.
This is all correct. And my earlier statement is incorrect. The main issue is that it’s another extra party that has access to your personal data. But that’s if you give them access in the first place.
This is what I get for being half awake earlier.
Or how about this.
20 year old shitbox. No nonsense just car
Walmart bluetooth adapter connects instantly and is only capable of music.
That works if you want a 20 year old shitbox, don’t want features in modern cars or can afford to keep your bug eyed WRX on the road.
The real issue is that no matter how you slice it, in the very near future automakers are going to have a slice of your life, and you will practically have no say in it because you won’t be able to uncouple those features from vehicles, new or used.
I just don’t have my phone paired lol
You can always disallow whatever connecting to your phone from accessing SMS. Problem solved.
Just wait until you find out about this things called computers… lol jk
But some sort of your information being sold is ALMOST unavoidable at this point. Even your smart (or any “smart” device with a microphone) TV’s are listening to you. Google it if you don’t believe me.
My daily is a 2012 Accord with an aux cord. I feel lucky not liking turbo engines because it limits me to mostly pre-screen cars. Although I’m also far from an average buyer.
Aux is the way! I’m in the process of putting together a mid 2000’s head unit setup for my 8th gen since I want a touch screen, but I don’t want any of this other nonsense. Just gimme a way to play CDs, set up a backup camera, and use my iPod and I’m set.
Hi so I developed a small scale signal jammer for cell phones installable in cars. It’s the size of a pack of cigarettes! Get this. For 8 years I’ve been trying to get these into cars. I’ve been in meetings with every automanufacturer in the US. Not a single one is interested in making their customers any safer and allowing them to be safer on the road. Basically in layman’s terms they make money when you wreck your car due to negligence. My device cost around 60 to make and wires right into any constant 12v power source. Once you pass 15mph you lose cell signal. Drop below 16mph it comes back. No texts no fb no tik tok no calls. There is no downside except less car wrecks so less cars sold. Makes me wonder how the side detection system got implemented cuz they don’t even car. So ford toyota and chevy can all suck it. They’re no different from the American govt. Wouldn’t know a good policy if it slapped em in the face.
> Researchers found data is being gathered by sensors, microphones, cameras, and the phones and devices drivers connect to their cars, as well as by car apps, company websites, dealerships, and vehicle telematics.”
Holy shit
Not cool. I turn that function off in my car. It causes me to divert concentration from driving. I have a manual shift Corvette drivetrain Camaro SS which has zero auto brake or lane keeping and I prefer the feel of control w/o diversions. Great brakes, concentration, and control = safety. I will answer my texts at home with my car off.
I think this Judge needs some bad luck. I wonder how much money they got handed under the table.
Just turn off message / contact sync.
excuse me the FUCK
