My last computer I built in 2013 had 16GB of ram. Its a joke in 2023 to still be selling high end machines with 8gb. Especially soldered on so you cant upgrade.

I wonder what does Mother Earth have to say about all of this manufactured almost-e-waste.

The thinkpad I just got has 64gb ram and real 4k screen

Honest question: RAM is so cheap, why is Apple even doing this? Is it just so they can advertise one price but then convince people they have to level up? What’s the advantage to the 8GB to them.
