I was so disappointed to see that this guy was a MAGA supporter and election denier.

Yes, I do care about the politics of people not in the political space. I don’t think people harboring such lunatic views should be legitimized.

I don’t have one - it took me a very long time to find it - back before also-MAGA Elon bought Twitter, I scrolled back to his history and saw re-tweets and comments in November/December 2020 regarding the election denial nonsense.

If you’re able to find archive of this, I’m sure you’ll stumble into it (assuming it’s not able to be found on the website now).

The trigger for me to even look for this was a random video in which he was badmouthing LA/California in the video/comments and it made me grow suspicious.

Who cares? Everyone has their own opinion on things. It’s always been that way. But before people didn’t freak out about it or broadcast it.

Let him be and just enjoy his video.

Yes, I do care about the politics of people not in the political space. I don’t think people harboring such lunatic views should be legitimized.

It’s interesting that when when this type of hardline attitude goes against the bias of the left people will say it will just make people more radical.

Apparently in the US you can discriminate based on political opinions, in my country that is not true and i prefer it that way, People in FOSS should not discriminate based on political opinions, people should be able to handle criticism even if it is incorrect and try to have a rational discussion (harder then it sounds).

I am a bit old and i don’t remember so much hate between political sides (there is research showing people don’t really have an accurate picture of what the other side believes), i blame for profit media and for profit social media for that, i feel like people used to be better at having productive and civil discussions. it’s like people became so sensitized they can’t hear things they don’t like. luckily lemmy is better as it shows both the upvotes and downvotes so you can see the expression of unpopular political opinions is at least partially appreciated (and probably why lemmy feels more normal to me then reddit).

          Edit:

My hunch appears to be correct according to a systematic review of Radicalization through Social Media:

Individuals must have critical social media literacy to counteract the rising radicalization through social media. Individual users’ political interests are key factors in their radicalization such as citizens losing faith in the government and political parties. Active rather than passive searchers of violent radical material are more likely to engage in political violence.

Do you even hear yourself? Society “tolerating” as if there’s a “them” Vs “us” and we cannot tolerate them. Sounds A LOT like the Nazis who couldn’t tolerate any other views and so killed everyone who disagrees with them.

That’s not how democracy works. I live in a Greek country and Greeks invented democracy. Here each person has their own point of view, will freely discuss it with others, but no one would dare say anything like “we cannot tolerate” others.

After the discussion they all sit down for a meal together and have a great time. Because at the end of the day they are ONE people. That is their strength.

From what I’ve seen the US is ripping apart because you’ve forgotten that you’re supposed to be one nation, United by core principles of freedom and morality. But you all seem fine to destroy each other. All you’ll do is destroy your country and leave yourselves open to the Russians and Chinese to attack you.

            You’re too naive.

There is a paradox of tolerating the intolerant.

Our enemy are fascists, plain and simple. They don’t deserve a voice. The only intelligent approsch is to combat them, as their purpose is to subvert democracy, however horribly flawed a system it is, with exclusionary autocracy. This era isn’t one of two parties who both believe in democracy, finding some disagreement on issues. This is a crisis, “post-fact” era where truth is ignored, corruption and power-grabs are blatant and undisguised, and bigotry is rampant.

No. You are too extreme. You don’t fight against your own people. It’s a recipe for disaster.

If you have disagreements you sit down, talk about it and find a COMPROMISE. That is democracy

You might have missed when they tried to overthrow democracy in the January 6th terrorist attack. These people are not our people. It’s a brewing war. They refused compromise for decades - it has been tried. Your lack of knowledge of history and politics is showing.

Actually I’m not American so I don’t really care. Generally I don’t trust any politicians and don’t bother to follow politics at all.

I hate how he cuts the video whenever an app is loading. I want to get a feel for how fast apps are launching. The fact that he’s cutting makes me think it must take forever for apps to launch.
