I love my Steam Deck way too much honestly as cool as the OLED model looks I’m pretty happy with my Steam Deck, I’ve put a transparent shell on it and I might upgrade the storage soon anyway so I don’t really need anything yet. I’m so excited for the Steam Deck 2 in the next few years I would love to see how far the technology progresses, imagine a portable VR device that’s probably what I’d use it for most likely even if it ran the battery into the ground.
YO, I stream all my games to the deck. I have a pc that sits in the dark connected to the fiber line in my house. And all it does, is play my steam games for me on the deck.
it’s just wild i can play all my games while in my bed like the games i want yk
I have to use PC but yea, steam deck where you can play lying down is awesome, and I have my nintendo switch and other handheld near my bed. it is heaven!!
I love my Steam Deck as well, but MAAN am I tempted to sell my 256 and get the OLED one. Just need to figure out how much they’re selling for.
2k top spec lol
According to Steam Hardware survey, less than 5% of PC gamers have >12 core CPUs, similarly for GPUs which are faster than 7800XT combined.
I’d call that pretty top spec.
Yeah man, i wish lol
Just downloaded Fallout New Vegas, backlog games be popping off!!
If I could afford it I’d buy a good vr spec pc and mostly play Vr over my deck.
Desktop PC? You mean Moonlight host.
Moonlight and sunshine are your friend. Best of both worlds. Games on max settings and natural supersampling on the handheld on the couch or in bed is a marvelous thing :)
The only thing I was is that it was a wee bit lighter. Other than that, as long as there’s a power outlet (or power bank) nearby, this thing has been incredible.
Perfection = Valve releasing a Steam OS console PC that can stream to the Deck with Pause/Resume working painlessly as if I’m playing natively. If I can play my 2023 AAA titles in max settings with Path Tracing and what not at 800p on the Deck OLED, that would be peak gaming for me.
I know I’m biased because I’m a millennial who’s always loved Nintendo, but there’s something about a handheld form factor.
Even after I ditched PlayStation for the OG Xbox, I still had PSPs because handheld kicks ass.
Didn’t need a pc after getting a steam deck.
Maybe I’m doing it wrong but I can’t imagine getting a “top spec” pc in 2023 for $2k when my 4090FE alone was $1600 before tax…. Steam deck def has it’s place in my life but might wanna double that value(at least) on the meme if you’re talking actual top specs.
Deck has saved me from the PC gaming upgrade cycle. I’m going to get the OLED deck but if I sell my old one for $200 I’m spending $450 which is less than half of an RTX 4080. PC gaming was becoming too expensive a hobby for me but the Deck brought it into the realm of reasonably affordable again.
