Crazy this team struggles to qualify. They have at least one world class player (when healthy) at every level. If you’d have told me a year or 2 ago that Italy would struggle qualifying for Euros with Donnarumma, Barella, Jorginho, Bastoni, Chiesa etc it’d have thought you were crazy. This isn’t a Euro winning level squad. Qualifying shouldn’t be in doubt, though.

Kazahzstan, Israel and Luxembourg have more points in their groups right now than Italy does.

    What does zaniolo *do*?

You can craft a good starting XI out of that squad. but the lack of depth in midfield is scary.

Fagioli and Tonali should’ve just chilled the fuck out and been happy little millionaires.

Kean, zaniolo, cristante, el sha, toloi… no place in any italy squad, for me.

why do we need to waste a fourth spot for an extra GK? take two, have a third on standby and throw in two more young midfielders to get a taste of the squad.

    dona

dimarco, bastoni, acerbi, darmian / calabria

    Fratessi / Loca / Barella

    Chiesa, scamacca, politano

    Thoughts on this starting line-up?

*Berardi / raspadori rotated in for impact later on.

*Jorginho for control in 2nd half.

I’m not a Politano fan at all. I think the was very lackluster last time against Macedonia. I’d rather Zani who at least very clearly outplayed the Ukrainian Leftback.

It seems a crime to include only 1 Roman when it’s at Stadio Olympico. Is Pelle still not healthy? Spina sure is, and so is Manchio. And Manchio played REALLY WELL last time for the Azzuri. I’m sure Spaletti has his reasons, but it seems onto natural to include Romanisti when the game is at Stadio Olympico.

There is plenty of talent even with Pellegrini Spinazola Locatelli Tonali Zaniolo Fagioli out. The idea that Italy does not have talent is false. Mancini cultivated a strong group around Verratti Jorginho Insigne and then he was stubborn and ran them into the ground and was a little unlucky. He then left us hanging to take the Saudi bag and now Splaletti is expected to do 2 years work in 2 months. The talent is there the management has let us down since Euro 2020 which is really 2021.

Unfortunately, there is little talent in the CF position. We’re pretty good everywhere else, as long as we’re healthy, which seems to be another problem.
