That new version of the song is awfull
Wait. There’s a new version?
The bebe rexa one where its just the most generic bullshit liyrics ever. Hold on im gonna get a link https://youtu.be/90RLzVUuXe4?feature=shared I hope you have sponsorblock or else jump to 00:30 in the video so that you skip the openning
Oh nah, I know the one you’re talking about. Actually like that song. I wouldn’t call that a ‘new version’ really. It’s heavily borrowing from the song, taking the melody, but that’s not uncommon in music. If they started using any of the lyrics then I would have had a problem but it being sort of an alternate take on the lyrics, plus the general electronic stuff being injected in, makes it feel like a very different song for me so I don’t really judge it based off of the original.
That being said I totally get it not being for everyone.
Btw i just realised you are the one in the other threat that called me an ashole for not agreeing with yah. No hard feelings m8 i know is just part of the game lol.
But it is very funny we are fighting over there and calmly talking about music here dont ya think?
I keep things to their thread/situation. There are a few users on this site who I absolutely fucking hate and considering how frequent of a poster I am, those users tend to pop up repeatedly. I don’t want this place to become reddit where people just start dragging drama from one situation to another so I try not to do that myself.
Yah i hear ya. What turns me of mostly is the lyrics. Like i said they sound like the most boring party music ever “im good and im feeling alright baby ima have the best fucking night of my life” thats pretty much the whole song and are probably in the top 10 most used lyrics in american songs.
True but you’ve also got to think of the genre of the music and the place in music. It’s made by a French dude to start with, David Guetta, and the type of music he makes is focused more on the vibes/beat than it is on the lyrics. The vocals are only ever really added to help further those vibes which is why I give a pass to this song. They’re not trying to create good lyrics, they’re trying to create good vibes. I can appreciate that.
The thing is that it doesnt even do that for me at least because he uses tge eifel blue song as most of the beat which is so recognisable that its impossible to not be reminded of it and it reminds me of it so much that i would rather just listen to that original version because i liked it very much.
There is a new version???
That reminds me, some years back I was listening to some recommended Spotify songs. I was just going about my business when all of a sudden I hear this mid-tempo pop song straight up take the melody from Blue. It was so bizarre. It’s called Some Say by Nea. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Some_Say_(Nea_song)
Its not really the same song but it pretty much is so thats why i say its new.
Im talking abouth the David Getha and Bebe rexha one where the lyrics just go “im good alright baby best night life”
and honestly, so was the old one
I’m blue imma beat up a guy.
The one i’ve always heard (and this might be a bit Freudian) was “I’m blue, i’mma bumfuck a guy”
I hear two versions, “I’m Blue, I’m in need of a guy” and this versions “If I was green I would die.”
If you’re into newer iterations of classical pop/techno songs, here are couple of recommendations:
- My Head, My Heart - Ava Max (Around the World - ATC, 2000)
- Higher Love - Kygo - (Higher Love - Whitney Houston, 1989)
- Good Feeling - Flo Rida (Something’s Got a Hold on Me - Etta James, 1962)
- Bittersweet Symphony - Gamper Dadoni (Bitter Sweet - Symphony - The Verve, 1997)
- Hot Stuff - Kygo (Hot Stuff - Donna Summer, 1979)
- Gimme Gimme Gimme - Syzz (Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! - ABBA, 1979)
- 21 Reasons - Nathan Dawn / Alle Farben (Destination Calabria - Alex Gaudino, 2003)
- Samba - YouNotUs (Samba de Janeiro - Bellini, 1997)
- Friday - Riton (Push the Feeling On - Nightcrawlers, 1992)
There are many more, but it’s really hard to find a cover that either enhances or builds upon the original or at least keeps the original songs soul intact. The bold ones are personal favorites.Reporting back. Using your bolding for my favorite songs. Note the scores are for personal enjoyment/taste, it’s not a review of the music as a whole.
- Gimme Gimme Gimme // Syzz - That bassline. Fuuuck. 10/10
- My Heard, My Heart // Ava Max - I swear I’ve heard this in a gayclub before and was so annoyed because I didn’t get the name of the song. 10/10
- Higher Love // Kygo and Whitney Houston - Feels more like a remix than a totally new song or a cover but don’t care. Slaps like a motherfucker. 10/10
- Good Feeling // Flo Rida - Intimately familiar with this song. Don’t care. Still jamming and singing along. 10/10
- Bittersweet Symphony // Gamper Dadoni - I forgot I have this song saved on my spotify. Was halfway through it and went to save it. 8/10
- Hot Stuff // Kygo - Great vibes/background music. 8/10
- 21 Reasons // Nathan Dawe and Alle Farben - You know that meme with Vince McMahon getting more and more excited before falling out of the chair? That. 12/10 *** Samba // YouNotaus** - I don’t think I ever stopped dancing in my chair. 12/10
- Friday // Riton - Again. Pretty sure I’ve heard this in a gayclub before. This bops so fucking hard. 10/10

Just found some more in my other playlists:
- Feeling Good - Bass Nectar (Feeling Good - Nina Simone, 1965)

- F.E.E.L - Lucky Luke (Somebody’s Watching Me - Rockwell, 1984)
- Apologize (Sped Up) - Besomorph (Apologize - OneRepublic, 2007)
The Dua Lipa, Elton John song is a bit slow, but perfect for those late work commutes with low traffic. My favorite song with this kind of vibe is Moonshine Got Me or You Wish - Nightmares On Wax which uses the same guitar line.
One of the weirdest weird music videos I know is The Parashute Ending - Birdy Nam Nam, Birdy Nam Nam are amazing Scratch DJs.Speaking of Dua Lipa. Theres an awesome Dua Lipa x Madonna/ABBA mashup but saddly it’s not on Spotify.

+1 for correct usage of “were” instead of “was.”
Holy shit. I always thought these were the lyrics. I’ve been made fun of for saying so. It’s nice to feel sane.
