    First thing that comes to mind is QoS settings. Check if there’s a bandwidth limiter specified in the router control panel.

    Random chance but do you use windows hyper v and have a virtual Nic set up. I had similar speed but then I deleted the bridge and it went to normal I was getting about 0.8mbps then it jumped to 100mbps (about what I should get) tried anorher computer of u have one?

    If possible plug a computer directly into the ONT to see if it’s the router or your connection

        The ONT is basically just a fiber to ethernet media converter so yes normally. Router plugs into ONT. But sometimes the fiber plugs directly into the ONT/Router so it’s a single unit

    If you get the smart home manager app from ATT it has a speed test that tests both ISP to your modem and then your device speed using Ookla.

    Here’s a flow chart depending on what happens:

    If the speed to the modem is bad, that’s att’s problem and they’ll send somebody out.

    If the speed to the modem is correct (at least 950mbps) then:

    If the speed to your device is bad (like above, so it is) try on other devices. If the speed is bad for those as well, then that’s probably on ATT and they’ll send somebody out.*

    If the speed to other devices is fine (“fine” is really subjective, don’t expect a full gig over wifi. 500 is normal for download but it should be the same for upload, probably higher actually) then that’s on you. Something is wrong with the configuration on your device.

    • I say probably on ATT because it could also be something obscure such as wifi congestion from other routers but stuff like that is less likely.

    Stupid question but did you reboot your router once the new ONT was connected to it? There is some configuration that the router does whenever it is connected to a new WAN source

    I had something similar when I first got AT&T fiber installed, it turned out the fiber in the cabinet at the entrance of the neighborhood wasn’t seated properly, but he had to trace it back starting from the house. Once he reseated it at the cabinet everything was good.

    Do you have a wireshark pcap driver enabled on your computer? That will slow your shit way down.

    I had these exact same symptoms. Half the download speed, and almost nothing for upload. It turned out there was a problem with the networking equipment upstream in the provider.

    Check for applications on your computer that could be throttling. I found another thread about this and it fixed my issues. Mine had “Killer” in the name of the application. It was throttling for gaming. Uninstalled and it fixed my issue.
