Hes not wrong but dont tell them that. 3 points off the top with a brand new midfield is much better than what i was expecting, felt that midfield would need more time to gel, but theyve been ticking along nicely.

Such a lot of change in the starting 11, will take a while to continue to settle in I think even if it’s a good start.

It’s so promising though - what a set of signings. United have signed like one person who still looks promising, Hojlund, and he hasn’t done much more than the likes of Endo, who has done well but not any more than that.

We would be top of the league if VAR was watching the game they were paid to officiate.

A completely new midfield, getting to know each other, only truly starting to click 2 weeks ago, I think we can, but I also don’t think he’s going to be DM in every game

Mac Allistar hasn’t been bad at all. It’s just a possessive 6 isn’t the player playing the final ball most of the time and he has done that. He retains the ball pretty well in difficult positions too.

I always thought he looked better for us when he playing at the base of midfield (admittedly he was beside Caicedo) rather than further forward

…good thing Andre is coming in January then right?

Mac is clearly out of position as a lone 6. But its fine as things are right now. He may well struggle defending against the big boys. But in possession we’ve been more than fine. And we’re still just 3 points off the top with only a single loss. Which was bullshit.

This is one of those takes that just gets repeated over and over again until it’s decided its true.

In pre season Macalister was playing as one of the 8’s but really central, more central than I’ve seen one of our mids play that position. Then because of how the transfer window goes he has been asked to play at 6. A notoriously hard job for us with no pre season there and with a completely new midfield set up.

So when Macalister gets caught out against Bournmouth at Anfield or Brighton away is it because he is unable to play that position ? Or because the set up of the midfield is not set up correctly to build out. Its very easy for shite pundits the blame individuals for system problems.

Macalister has played well all things considered and I fully expect him to improve. The Forest game the weekend showed that.

We dont need a midfield destroyer, we need someone there who will help us move the ball quickly and help us break down low blocks.

He’s not good enough to play as a no. 10 for Liverpool. Whenever he played in that position for us he hardly set the world on fire. People need to trust Klopp on this one, and Mac needs to accept he’s there to do a job in the position he’s currently in
