Vladimir Putin has offered to halt his invasion of Ukraine across the current front line as part of efforts to reach a peace deal with US President Donald Trump, according to people familiar with the matter.

This really is a tremendous show of weakness… unless it’s a ploy somehow.
The ploy is that when Ukraine refuses it gives the US (Trump/Krasnov) an excuse to stop delivering military aid to Ukraine.
The greater concern is Trump lifting sanctions and starting to deliver military aid to Russia, or even worse, commit US troops.
That makes a lot of sense.
Does Trump care about constructing justifications for his actions though? Seems like he enjoys shooting from the hip and, if ever in doubt, opts for strategies that will piss the most people off.
He has lackeys to make weak excuses for his actions.
yea most likely they want to reduce local and global support to Zelensky by saying “look we offered peace but he did not take”, of course they will likely offer some unacceptable terms.

Obviously he’s full of shit, but it’s funny to note that because Ukraine currently has presence in Russia, stopping along the current front line would mean giving up Russian territory to Ukraine.
Fine if ukraine is now formally a European ally (full proper mutual defence)
And veto-proof by the US until we’re rid of Fanta Quisling.
Might be worth it, but Ukraine deserves it’s territory returned.
Unfortunately “deserves” doesn’t work in international politics. Otherwise a certain someone would’ve slipped on a banana peel out of a window.
