A sweeping crackdown on posts on Instagram and Facebook that are critical of Israel—or even vaguely supportive of Palestinians—was directly orchestrated by the government of Israel, according to internal Meta data obtained by Drop Site News. The data show that Meta has complied with 94% of takedown requests issued by Israel since October 7, 2023. Israel is the biggest originator of takedown requests globally by far, and Meta has followed suit—widening the net of posts it automatically removes, and creating what can be called the largest mass censorship operation in modern history.

A lot of my old shared posts on FB are missing and removed. Others that I posted were removed for “spam”, and I was unable to appeal or even see what the post is. Believe me, I’m not spamming anything.

I’m not posting anything on Facebook anymore, but it’s like I need to screenshot what I post to see what’s been taken down.

Weirdly, I got banned for life from Reddit for hate speech against a vulnerable minority, with reference to a comment I made in a post on r/palestine. The trouble is I remember the post, but do not remember commenting - despite asking the mods to show what I posted, but no response.

All I know is the post was 7 days prior, and I was banned following a single complaint.

I don’t want to sound paranoid, but I was also in the top 1% commenters, and very much pro palestine/anti zionist in my standpoint…hasbara?

I was ‘shadowbanned’ on an SFBA instance … my posts forced to ‘follows only unlisted’ for some ‘offense’ the mods refused to disclose @Oyu_Fka. @-ButtBidet@hexbear.net

It’s worrying…as I say I initially thought I was just being paranoid, but the more I think about it, the more likely it is that someone somewhere decided to shut me down.

Well, that’s not happening, so hopefully, ‘lemmy’ will become my new permanent home for discussion 🙂.
