I’m sure there are other, better translations of Noiré, but it’s literally “Blacked” in French and that’s hilarious to my juvenile brain.

Noire is the feminine form of noir, which is black.
Adding the accent aigu to the final e transforms vowels to the past participle form, hence blacked.
