That is highly misleading. The resolution instructs the House Energy and Commerce Committee to “submit changes in laws within its jurisdiction to reduce the deficit by not less than” $880 billion over the next decade. That panel has jurisdiction over Medicaid, which Republicans have repeatedly targeted in public and private discussions, with one leaked GOP document floating over $2 trillion in cuts to the program.
Republicans also rejected numerous Democratic amendments that would have prevented Medicaid and SNAP cuts in the upcoming budget reconciliation process as their resolution moved through committees.
If only we had known about this beforehand.
If only we could see their project plans for what they were going to do this year…

This has already been happening. It was one of the bigger points that inflamed Luigi about united healthcare.

If only they’d been trying to get rid of Medicaid and Social Security for literally my entire life we would have known.
Seriously though: Why the hell don’t democrats ever learn this lesson?
Could you clarify what you mean by this?
When will democrats learn that no Republican is ever going to work with them? That there’s nothing they can say to get a Republican to vote for them?
Biden had to get on the fence r’s the first time, or he never would have won. If Walz was the primary, he probably would have won, because he’s white, male and old. The stay at homers didn’t want to vote for a black, woman for prez. There were r’s that voted for Obama, FYI. As far as the house and senate, I’m pretty sure they know that. They don’t have the numbers regardless.
