Summary

The IRS will lay off 6,700 employees on Thursday as part of Donald Trump’s federal spending cuts, according to Reuters.

The layoffs occur in the middle of tax season and could strain the agency’s ability to process returns before the April 15 deadline.

An executive order mandates the firings, and the IRS is also under a hiring freeze until further notice.

Some IRS agents have been reassigned to assist with deportation efforts, raising concerns about tax season disruptions.

Understaffed IRS benefit the rich the most, because those are the most difficult to go after, because they use expensive lawyers.
The average guy however, can only bend over and take it. So they are always targeted first!!!

The IRS brings in revenue. Not exactly efficient to remove them.

Really looking forward to job market numbers. I know the Republicans are spin masters, but it’s going to be a pretty hard spin when the market is shit because they’ve fired so many federal workers. It’s working against the American people right in front of them.

His supporters won’t care, I know. That’s how cults work.

I think there is something about the dates that means the next job reports won’t account for these layoffs but the one after it will.
