As far as his reputation around the league Trae has had a very rocky career despite him putting up 27 and 10 on 59% TS since his sophomore season.
He’s a polarizing player and has dropped to 21-30 on most of the player rankings after a disappointing season last year. The Hawks have been in the play in and gotten eliminated in the first round the last two seasons since reaching the ECF in 2021.
His best season:
(2021-22) - 28/4/10 on 46/38/90 (lead the league in total points and assists)
Last season:
26/3/10 on 43/34/89
He’s been called overrated and underrated a lot over the past year
So what do you guys expect from Trae and the Hawks this season?
He’ll be great but that team is going nowhere with a Capela/Bey/Hunter frontcourt
More of the same, lower-seeded playoff team. Still like Trae though.
No idea, probably the same as last year. Something about his game doesn’t scream “cohesion” enough.
Detriment on defense, good on offense.
All NBA he has good stats and is durable and should be a playoff team
Similar stats, but make 2nd team all NBA
Reason: Team has a better record. Trae finally plays more off ball under Quinn. His numbers stay the same but he looks better and makes more winning plays
If they avoid Celtics and Bucks round 1, their goal should be to at least win a playoff series
Im expecting more of the same.
