Slew of bad (objectively bad) press, combined with the lowest watch rate in the NBA means people think the Hornets will not be good. I am here to deny this claim. Having watched every game for the past 4 seasons, I can tell you that distractions and potential injuries aside aside… we are a playoff team. LaMelo Ball averaged 23 7 and 7 last year on great efficiency from 3 and low efficency over all. We have Terry and Gordon healthy, Miles Bridges may or may not come back, Mark Williams is one of the premier paint protectors in the league, and most importantly drafted a guy who would be first overall in most drafts. When healthy, this roster minus Williams and Miller (and other minor players) were a play in team…. So how on earth are they last in almost every ranking? In the same way that you could argue that everything has to go right for us to make it to the yoffs, I argue the opposite everything would have to go wrong for us to miss it. A worse roster made the playins 2 and 3 years ago. Discuss!
All this for a 8th seed at best
I’m glad for you that you like your miserable franchise and are excited for the season. Good luck!
Cant we ever have a post where we arent overhyped or totally dunked on? One post
I haven’t seen a single post overhyping us
When the over/unders came out we were the freest over of all time to some.
You consider over 31.5 wins and then people saying “easy bet” overhyping us? Yikes wouldn’t wanna see the underside of that
I agree with you. The depth is still a concern but people are misjudging the ceiling of this team. Looking forward to this season.
“Objectively” bad?! Well it definitely ain’t good
“My team is being underrated and disrespected” - Every single fan in the NBA
The talent and strength of the East is wayyyy better than 2022 when the Hornets last made the play-in. Basically every team in the East got better since then while the Hornets got worse with Bridges out and Lamelo’s injury.
If Bridges plays and is back to his 2022 form (not a given since he missed a whole year) but if that happens, this is probably a 40 win team
If he doesn’t though it’s gonna be rough
Hornets are trash. Trash culture, trash franchise, trash for signing Miles Bridges, just a hot fucking dumpster fire. But go ahead, defend them.
i mean if miles brisges was there and didnt compete crimes i may be inclined to believe u but on the court he made a big impact so they are kinda missing his presence
Miller would not be first overall in most drafts💀💀💀
The best player in college basketball? Maybe more like 50/50… but that’s not a crazy take at all. Most people said 3 1st overall picks in this years class including your boy
If everything goes right you might win a play in game in the east, not sure how it differs significantly on how people see the Hornets
