If we can hold leads in away games, we’d be fighting for CL. We drew our last 3 away games and haven’t won an away game since the start of the season.
Nice to see Rayo and Valencia in the European spots and Las Palmas doing decently
Rafa in yet another relegation battle
Celta doesn’t even look bad, they’ve been so unlucky as well
Losing the 2-0 lead to Barcelona
The Bamba goal vs Mallorca that was millimeters from crossing the line
Last minute loss to Las Palmas
Had a man up vs Getafe and didn’t take advantage of it (instead conceded almost immediately after the sending off)
Rafa could be blamed for part of it, but also Celta need to be better in these situations
Low key tactical dinosaur TBH
Untrue. He has simply squandered a lot of points that he (or at least his management and coaching team) deserved.
They have prepared very well for games, have been playing well but lack fitness and Rafa must have the worst in-game management I must have seen in some time. No better example of this than the Barça game.
Even the staunchest of Barça fans would tell you that there was only one team on the park for the first 80 minutes. Celta played them off it but then played right into Barça’s hands with the most stupid tactical decisions (given the squad and the situation of the game). A tactical masterclass to a tactical disaster class in the blink of an eye. Panic and pressure of such a strong position. How ironic.
Barça deserved all the 3 points that were only Celta’s by right. Barça didn’t play badly to be second best. Neither did they do something unforseen nor extraordinary to turn the game. It was all Celta’s credit earlier and all Celta’s blame later. One of the biggest throws I have witnessed recently.

You are kind of making my point for me here TBH
He’s not a complete donkey but he frequently makes bad decisions that swing games away from his team
apparently worst start ever to a season by Celta since 2007 when they were in the second division
Please tell me that the Girona fans sing “M-m-m-my Girona!” to tune of ‘My Sharona’.
This year Villarreal will have it difficult to reach european places. I am surprised to see Almeria down there and Celtas as always underperforming a lot
I really don’t see them challenging for Europe
Am I a fan of Girona? No. Would I like them to win the league? Absolutely.
They won’t win it, but seeing them in the UCL next year would still be something I want to see
I don’t really like them being under city group
At least they dont have a majority share
They do
They have 47?
And next one has 36 then 16 city owns most of them
Majority ownership means owning more than 50% though
you literally said “majority share”
At least their not called girona city and dont play in sky blue.
A good amount of us don’t like it either but it’s not like we have the money to take the club from them.
There’s Madrid, Catalonia, Basque and then there’s the rest of the country trying to keep up.
Girona is truly a beautiful city.
The biggest surprise is Valencia not being complete dogshit this season.
honestly Baraja is doing black magic with that team, showing that they have one of the best academies in the country, personally I had put Valencia 20th in my pre-season prediction 😭
Gattuso was doing black magic. This is not a overperforming team. This is pretty much what I would expect, as I also said pre season.
I’m going to enjoy this season while it lasts, next season will be back to normal I guess
thanks, im gonna watch girona matches now
Very very worth it. They play beautiful football.
Pretty close at the top there
