Never knew there was a redbull team, how long they been there and what’s the story with them? Does everyone hate them?
3 years.
There was also a “Red Bull Brasil” some time around 2010-2015 but they were pretty irrelevant I think they didn’t even play 1st division, but André Ramalho came from there!
Red Bull Brasil was a failure so big that they could not ascend at all, it was not just the 1st division. Thus, Red Bull bought Bragantino série B place and pumped more money into them than the other 19 teams could only dream to receive to cover it up
RB Brasil is now their B team.
Formely Bragantino, I believe the club was bought by Red Bull in 2020 (Might be wrong, but it was around this time) and fused with the previous Red Bull team in Brazil, Red Bull Brasil, and became Red Bull Bragantino. They quickly got promoted to the first division and are there since then.
Having 4 (neutral) spots in a table of 20 makes for a super exciting championship
Fuck Bruno Lage
What is going on at Santos?
They’ve always had financial trouble but they get carried by their academy. Marcos Leonardo scored almost half of their goals.
I recently noticed that. He is still only 19. He is the Santos equivalent to Endrick and Vitor Roque. I am very surprised I haven’t read rumors about him or heard about him at all before. The other 2 I mentioned even already signed their contracts with big European clubs.
We fucking suck. Football will drive me to madness.
Not even with the ref on your favor.
Is Corinthians the biggest club in São Paulo? It looks like you have more passionate fans, but São Paulo fc have exported a lot of big names to Europe and have been fairly successful in their history as well
Corinthians has the biggest fanbase of the São Paulo based clubs and the 2nd biggest fanbase in the country.
With that being said, their successes have mostly happened in national competitions. They have a horrendous record in the Libertadores (2012 was an anomaly) and there’s not a big difference domestically to say that they’re better than the other ones (iirc Palmeiras even has more domestic titles than them).
Why the immensely large fanbase then? I’m not Brazilian, so how does it work when you come from a city like 4+ teams, how do you pick who you support and why are Corinthians #1? Is it like London where ppl often go with their neighbourhoods? Or simply whoever is winning the most at the moment? (The abundance of united fans in London)
Corinthians was founded by industrial workers in sao paulo, at the time the biggest industrial center of latin america, so it had a large working class appeal back in the day.
Hold up, I’m someone who don’t follow this league at all.
But I’ve heard alot of noise about Fluminense, Andre, Dinz, and I would guess that they are destroying the league.
Only to find out they are 7th place?
they are 9th, but to point out, between 2nd and 9th they are all close to each other and they had 3 losses recently.
The focus is on Libertadores. Is hard to keep up with all competitions.
My guy there’s a fucking G-12 over there or something…
Also I’m a bit drunk so if I come off as rude there’s your answer…
Our teams usually cant compete for Br cup, Libertadores and Brasileirão at the same time cause theres lots of “big clubs”, there’s a big 12. Usually they prioritize only one competition. Also something that can’t happen in the premier league, we can field a team of subs for the matches, so plenty of matches are played with a second team while the main team fights for the cups (if they go far).
Yup. As many people said, it is very difficult to be consistent on all tournaments. So a team generally focus in the competition that they’re most likely to win.
Any chance of Bragantino actually winning the title? Brazil, don’t screw up!
Botafogo has yet to play against them as well as a few other top teams, so there is a chance for the cursed energy drink to get close. Knock on wood.
I mean, is not impossible. Botafogo has not been playing well since Luis Castro went to AL Nassr, have shit depth (and a few important injuries), Lucio Flavio (the caretaker until next season) already coached them in the past with like 40% points collected, and they are yet to play each other…
But even if they end perfect, it would take one of the biggest collapses I’ve ever seen, especially considering Botafogo still has quite a few games they should be winning (in theory), including Cruzeiro away (we haven’t won a single match in Mineirao this season, if I’m not mistaken).
Even if they go on a crazy 11 games winning streak, Botafogo only needs 15 out of 33 points to guarantee the title
Dumb me started looking at the table from the top left, like P=Points.
Ok, so how close are the team, looks like a lot of them have 27 points, the first 2… 3… 4… 5… wait a second. Then I realized P is played and the points are the rightmost column, lol.
xD
