My friend got to go last summer. He was really excited, it’s something he’s always wanted to do.
Whenhe got there and looked around he was so disappointed. It’s a cheap place with very few things to even look at. He said it was as if someone decided thier restaurant wasn’t making money so they kind of turned it into a “museum”.

In addition to: Mary J. Blige, A Tribe Called Quest, Ozzy Osbourne, Dave Matthews Band and posthumous recognition for Jimmy Buffett, MC5, Alexis Korner, John Mayall, Norman Whitfield and Big Mama Thornton.

Kool and the Gang certainly aren’t what I’d call rock either. The rock and roll Hall of Fame has generalized to the point it should be called the music hall of fame. It’s also lame.

None of those inductees are, other than Ozzy. They’ve apparently run out of actual rock musicians to add.

Eh. Plenty of non-rock musicians are already in the Hall of Fame.

The first inductees were in 1986. Bo Diddley was inducted in 1987. John Lee Hooker in 1991. Johnny Cash in 1992. Bob Marley in 1994. I stopped looking after that.

My wife worked backstage at the induction ceremony. She didn’t get to meet any of the inductees though. Just their dancers.
