What about war in Ukraine? What about “football against racism”? What about discussion of whitewashing of the sport by Saudis/UAE? When it comes to Palestine, everyone is suddenly “HEY HEY DONT BRING POLITICS INTO HERE”.

You can be critical of Israeli government without hating Jewish people. You can be supportive of Palestinians without supporting Hamas. You don’t have to be an anti-Semite to criticize Netanyahu.

      Grow a fucking pair.

Elneny is not Palestinian but Egypt and Palestine have very strong ties and are very close geographically and culturally

That’s a very weak connection to begin with.

Even weaker when you consider that Egypt handles their border with Gaza the same way Israel does.

Don’t know what it says, but hopefully it condemns killing innocent civilians regardless of context

I dont think this belongs on here. This opens the door for everyone to start saying their pov is the “right side of history”. I dont begrudge anyone their political views, but there are countless reddit forums for that stuff.

Pretty sure 99.999% of people in this sub don’t have the historical context and intellect to determine which is the right side of history.

That’s if there is even a ‘right side’ as with pretty much everything in the world, it’s complicated, good and bad on both sides. Most everyday people don’t have the time nor inclination to research the complicated situation, which I don’t blame them for at all.

I don’t like this being on a football sub tbh.

I’m late 20s, have tried many times in my life to work this thing out. All I can say it’s a fucking mess over there. Truly a mess. The people cheering for one side or the other like it’s a football match is completely insane to me.

I for one am currently and have always been against Apartheid.

I don’t feel the need to apologise if that offends anyone.

My innocent friends were murdered while peacefully attending a festival in Israel. Please keep this crap off the sub.

People turn to this sub as a place to enjoy and talk about a sport and a team they support. i understand sports and politics are very intertwined, but i’m very confident that this current event has nothing to do with arsenal. plenty of other forums to voice your opinion on this, but does this subreddit need to be one?

I’m ok with having adult conversations with fellow Gooners about politics, religion, morality, anything. Football (sports at large) have always been avenues for politics. Where do you think the England v Argentina rivalry came from? Scotland v England? If this bothers you, just keep scrolling.
