60 years ago, Luigi Lo Rosso found a painting in the basement of a villa in Capri. He stuck it in a cheap frame and gave it to his wife, who didn’t think it was pretty enough to sell, so hung it on the wall. Then in the 1980s, their son Andrea saw Picasso’s Buste de femme Dora Maar in a grade-school textbook. Ever since, the family have been trying to authenticate their picture as a genuine Picasso.
