Hi,

I recently moved to Edmonton from Winnipeg. I have been struggling immensely with the amount of bad driving in this city. Not skill based, but pure lack of respect for the law, skipping red light, merging without yielding, running pedestrian crossing without yielding to pedestrians actively crossing. I have been in a lot of close calls lately and I am not saying I am the best driver on the road and I am always in the right, but wow.

People have no respect for other drivers, pedestrians, the law in general on the roads here. Lots of speeding. Am I just not used to living in a bigger city? Is this just how it goes? Sorry for the rant, but if you’ve seen a MVA up close with kids inside. It makes you rethink things. I work in healthcare is all I’ll say. People got to slow the hell down.

EDIT:

Thanks for responding! There are a lot of replies and I am happy to hear I am not the only one feeling this way. Stay safe out there. Remember a few mins of speeding can cause a lifetime’s worth of pain :)
