A boy left his bike chained to a tree when he went away to war in 1914. He never returned, leaving the tree no choice but to grow around the bike. Incredible that this bike has been there for 98 years now!

    It doesn’t look anything like that anymore unfortunately. People started cutting pieces off of it a few years back and it’s mostly gone now.

      Damn, how fucked do you have to be to do that? Whatever they cut out is just a worthless piece of metal compared to what it was

      The Snopes page says people have been replacing parts on it. I wonder if it’s people who work for the town because of visitors that come because of the story others have mentioned. It’s probably good for the tourist business to have the bike be there.
