fuck is this. Biographies of amazon, kroger and albertsons? Flattering biographies at that. specifically not making any explicit point, drawing no particular conclusion at all, but somehow im strongly inferring “big scawy guvamint is blocking a widdle ol’ grocery monopoly 🥺 👉👈”

“Supermarket under attack” is rather generous framing for building a monopoly that just publicly admitted to price gouging.

Kroger and Albertsons don’t dominate the grocery market. A monopoly is a company that is in a market devoid of competition. Who shops at Krogers or Albertson’s these days? I haven’t stepped into either one in decades. Hyperbole and hysteria creation is all this is. If they do manage to merge, it doesn’t bother me one bit because I will never shop there. The article is correct. The only people who care are capitalist-haters and zealous bureaucrats.

I shop at both of those stores over once a week and they’re always busy. Let me guess, you shop at Walmart?

AGREED! The people who LITERALLY said they Price Gouged Essential American Goods are the VICTIMS in this Scenario and NOT the Americans who CAN’T AFFORD TO EAT thanks to these Supermarkets and their Admitted Price Gouging!
