Betsy DeVos is the sister of Erik Prince who founded Blackwater, the controversial mercenary group, for those that didn’t know. She vehemently suppressed anything that would benefit public education and funneled public funds to private education while she was Secretary Of Education.

    Yeah of course she does

Betsy DeVos reported at least $225 million — and potentially well over $414 million — in outside income while working as Donald Trump’s education secretary, according to an analysis of DeVos’s financial disclosures by CREW. It is impossible to know the exact amount because DeVos’s income is reported in broad ranges, but we do know for a fact that she made nine figures during her four years in office.

I graduated from an ed program just as Trump appointed this loser. Tons of people signed a letter condemning her and asking our school to do the same, but we got the canned admin response of “not getting involved in politics”.

    Oh course she would.

It was extremely lucrative for her the first time, she’s a ghoul driven only by greed, and it’d be even MORE lucrative if they get back in with a plan to dismantle all the systems in place to protect the country from leeches like her.

I realise now that I had been quite happy this past few years, having forgotten that this gormless moonboot existed.

    Day ruined.

The prediction markets heavily favor Kamala at the moment. It’s a ridiculously large edge, too. To be fair, Hillary Clinton was heavily favored by the prediction markets during the 2016 race, it was only during the midst of election night it flipped.

Clinton didn’t have what’s happening behind her run like Harris has right now. Huge energy, young voters excited, and thousands of volunteers signing up to help in swing states.

        That being said

        #VOTE

Republicans want the entire department of education gone. It’s in project 2025, and they keep repeating it as she did right now

She then proceeded to say she was open to the idea “only if it was with the goal of phasing out the Department of Education as we tried to do through budgetary process in the first administration

They want to gut public education at the expense of anyone living in the US

Can’t have a smart and informed electorate if your plan is to create a fundamentalist religious kingdom where the king is chosen by god and is infallible.
