I’d like to know as well, the article doesn’t seem to explain what caused it. I’m guessing disagreement with the government over Poland’s military policy though.

Most likely because PiS ministry is trying to increase their control over military way beyond the way provided by regulations to the civilian oversight. The two generals which just resigned were highest ranking officers of the army and they and they chain of command was dug under by PiS.

Note it isn’t new occurence, for example the 2010 plane crash in which president Kaczyński died was also largely caused by this, direct cause was that pilot was ordered to land in incredibly dangerous conditions by president and air force general on board, despite per regulations he had duty to refuse them and fly elswhere. Then there was the WSI affair when PiS and the civilian security services basically dismantled entire military intelligence/counterintelligence agencies which would be incredibly dangerous if we actually had any real enemies. Then there was the creation of Territorial Defence units which is clearly the attempt by PiS to create alternate army controlled by PiS. Current debacle seem to be about Belarus where PiS is probably trying to provoke some incident.

Note that contrary to what anyone might expect, polish armed forces are really incredibly apolitical, and but the shitheads from PiS are trying hard to change this. Most likely those resignations will allow them to push their people up in the ranks.
