Looks more like that was the original color and there was a rug over it. The rest has faded in the 50 years since it was laid down.
Yup, I’m quite certain the saturated color area is how the rug originally looked
It looks like the Koolaid Man visited…and that’s why that wall is all patched up with mosaic tile print
OH YEA!
Beat me to it.

That room has a very specific odor that I can’t quite describe, but I trust you know it as well.
Old carpet, dust, decades of sunlight, and a hint of wood.
Don’t forget cigarettes.
That’s a nasty wine/juice spill.
Blood would look darker. Almost brownish I think.
Almost brownish I think.

I am but a vessel for … uh… my own thoughts
Just remember what Harry taught you and stick to the rules.
I have an alibi.
I actually love this. Just replace the carpet
The wood ceiling is fantastic!
That is where a round shag-pile carpet (probably white) lay.
It’s missing a magazine rack and a weird sun clock on the wall.
No macrame? Or string-art?
Oh man, the string art. I’d forgotten.
I’ve just had a flashback to Canadian Blue Mountain Pottery too, but that might have just been my grandparents.
Definitely wouldn’t mind being in a house like that, so long as the floor is that reddish stain(?) looking color.
It is just some tomato sauce officer, we buried the meatball in concrete…
It was like that when I got here vicar sergeant.
I actually really dig whatever is going on with that green wall.
Marsha! Marsha! Marsh—…
I can’t recall.
I was making koolaid
Wood paneled ceiling. Why?
That’s not panelling. I guess they cheaped out.
Ha yeah I should’ve said wood effect! It’s like a tunnel of doom, leading to the stairs of death.
