Though since Iranian women have access to education, work, and politics, there’s been ongoing backlash stemming from that event.

It’s funny how all of the things they (rightly) criticize modern Western countries for are suddenly acceptable, even on a more horrific scale, if the country just says “West Bad” a few times. Sexist? Racist? Homophobic? Police state? “Well, it’s not ideal but…”
