George Galloway is one of Britain’s most formidable political campaigners. He has been elected as a member of parliament for four separate constituencies - winning on three occasions while not standing for a major political party.
Earlier this year saw him elected as the MP for Rochdale. That success was, in no small part, because of Galloway’s position on Gaza - and his outspoken criticism of Israel.
But was that merely the swan song in a rollercoaster political career? Or the beginning of something much bigger?
Could George Galloway’s Workers Party of Great Britain become a genuine threat to the Labour Party - particularly on issues of foreign policy - over the years to come?

I’d be mega surprised if Galloway’s Wokers Party, or Reform for that matter, gain more than two seats between them. They aren’t destroying anyone.
They won’t have any seats at all because Galloway himself will be out at the GE.
destroying the labour party by checks notes running to the right of the tories.
Yeah, that’s what the electorate is crying out for: Corbyn’s Labour, but homophobic.
Well Corbyn failed and Gorgeous George thinks he’s found the special sauce to make it more palatable - religious extremism.
Are Novara now backing that old fraud?
@AllNewTypeFace@leminal.space More like exposing him really. Let him talk to damn himself.
George Galloway is only interested in himself. When this current fad gets flushed down the toilet, he’ll find another bandwagon to jump on.

Their downstream series is much more about interviewing people with “interesting” ideas across the political spectrum, than just platforming people they agree with. They often contain lively disagreements with people from the right. In this case Galloway has foreign policy views that are similar to those of Novara but he has shown just how much of a social conservative he is, likely influenced by his own admission that he has become increasingly religious as he has aged.
There’s an accompanying written piece by Bastani where he says he went into the interview thinking of Galloway as someone he’d have voted for. I can’t bear to watch the video.
Him and Michael walker are a couple of fucking clowns. The sad thing is this is the best we’ve got for leftwing media.
