This is why you should only buy data cables from trusted vendors and never use any left behind by a stranger. Amazon’s quality control is so bad that you probably shouldn’t trust them at all. An old trick for hacking a company is to drop a few flash drives in the parking lot, but these days just a USB cable suffices. The more expensive bad cables can even set up a WiFi network for remote control!
