I mean, they already have Easter, and then basically the whole month of December. It’s not anyone else’s fault that it got turned into a consumerism and capitalist mega payday.

Easter isn’t even about Jesus. At least Christmas has the name, and some manger imagery, and other Christian-based stuff they can stamp on top of Saturnalia, but Easter is still named after the goddess of fertility with all the accompanying fertility and spring parts, from eggs to rabbits, to little sprouting plants and whatnot.

And I get that the Christians try to associate that spring renewal and rebirth with the resurrection, but I think that’s a pretty big stretch to try to make it work.

Easter is not about Jesus. Every time somebody says “keep Christ in Christmas” I want to say “then get him out of Easter.”

Dude I remember that day Jesus rose from the dead. Crazy day. It was… was it Wednesday? I’m not sure. No wait it was definitely Sunday. The first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox. Yeah that’s when it was. Who could forget that?

Good Friday also gets a government holiday in 12 states as well, that should get an honorary mention. In public school ash Wednesday used to be a thing… But not sure if they finally did away with it

Easter, Christmas? Never heard of them.

Are you talking about the festivals for spring equinox and winter solstice? More commonly known as the celebration of Ishtar, and Saturnalia?

    Christian visibility day?

Like all the big churches that are publicly visible with their marquees displaying whatever religious mumbojumbo?

Christmas? Easter? Good Friday? Whatever other Christian holidays? The want another day on top of all that?

In 2016 my mother put it to me as a positive that he was ok with same-sex marriage.

The conductor is at work and he leads them masterfully. He’s kinda the perfect version of what they need from a demagogue.

Look up a sociologist named Alvin Toffler. Back around 1970, he and his wife wrote two books, “The Third Wave” and “Future Shock.”

The idea of The Third Wave was that the world was going to rapidly shift from an Industrial model to a Digital one and that change would be as profound as the shift from hunter/gatherer to farming. The concept of Future Shock was that there would be a lot of people who couldn’t or wouldn’t be able to adapt to the new reality.

This is a really good example of what they were talking about.

Toffler said that by ‘anti-war’ he meant that the next conflict would be so different from previous ones that we should come up with a new name for it.

Right after 9/11/2001 some folks floated the idea, but TRUE AMERICAN PATRIOTS were incensed with the idea that the conflict was anything but a WAR!!!

Do you mean the reactionary behavior, or the inability to understand it? I feel like it could go either way, but one is more depressing than the other.

Both. Going back to an idealized past is preferable to dealing with an unpleasant present.

You could have some festive themes for it too.

Like maybe a tree which you could decorate, and a color theme (I suggest red and green), and maybe cookies and give each other presents.

Sounds like a great idea Donald. If only something like that existed.

If Christians want to be more visible, they could attract a lot more attention by dancing around with poisonous snakes.

Hey Christians! Prove to us that you really are protected by your magical deity and increase your “visibility” at the same time!

His mind certainly is. The blobby rest will soon follow as well. He’s overweight, eats fast food and drinks coke all day and thinks exercise is bad because it depletes the body’s battery. It’s a wonder he hasn’t croaked already but time is certainly against him now. In comparison, Biden takes much better care of himself (but time is certainly not on his side as well).
